Ongoing Programs at the Library

Toddler Story Hour is a pre-literacy program initiated by the New Mexico State Library.  The El Rito Library has offered this program for FREE one morning per week during the school year. Toddlers and their caregivers or parents are invited to participate.

The goal of the program is to develop literacy by active, engaged learning activities. Reading, playing, talking, singing, and drawing activities model early literacy practices that parents can apply at home.

Summer Reading classes are a staple of our library programming during June and July. The arts, sciences, outdoor play, and special field trips are all part of the offerings. Local artists and educators make up a talented group of leaders for these popular and fun activities.

The Quilter's Guild meets every Thursday afternoon in the Library Community Room. For 23 years they've been stitching hundreds of warm, comforting and beautiful quilts, helping with Library fundraisers and many relief causes near and far.
