In addition to government support and support from foundations, the El Rito Public Library relies on donations from individual patrons and supporters. Here are some of the ways you can donate. The El Rito Public Library is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization; your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Thank you for your support!

How to Donate. The library can accept donations by cash in the donation box at the library. Checks can be placed in the donation box or mailed to the library at the address below. Donations by credit or debit card can be made by clicking the yellow "Donate" button above. Electronic bill pay checks can be sent from your bank's web site to the address below. To send a payment through the American Banking Association's Clearing House (ACH), contact our head of finance.
Support Matching Grants. The library occasionally receives matching grants, in which a donor will make a grant to the library as long as the library raises an equal amount of funds from other sources. We currently have a matching grant of $15,000, and have raised about $10,000 from other sources so far. Help to reach our match goal is gratefully appreciated!
Support Fundraisers. The library has several fundraising events each year, such as silent auctions, pancake breakfasts, cider-making fall festival, movie screenings, and others. These will be announced on the home page. Attend a fundraising event, enjoy the event, meet and greet people, and support the library if you can.
Through Your Work. Many employers make it easy to donate to the library via payroll deductions. Some employers match gifts to 501(c)(3) organizations, if so your payroll deduction gift doubles in value! Check with your employer to see if they provide such a service to their employees.
Bequests. Support the future of the Library and its service to the community by remembering us in your will. Your bequest will help ensure that the library can continue serving the community for decades to come!
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD). If you are over age 73, Congress requires that you withdraw a minimum amount from retirement plans (such as IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or 457(b) plans) each year. This distribution is taxable income to you. However, if you notify your plan administrator to make a QCD instead of withdrawing the funds, the IRS will not count it as taxable income. Consult with your tax advisor as to whether this is a good course of action for you. If you would like to make a QCD to the library, first thank you, and second, let the plan administrator know the name and address of the library (see below), and that our IRS Tax ID is 85-0459285. If the administrator wants to send the funds electronically, have them contact our head of finance.
Smith's Food and Drug Inspire Program. The library is registered with the Inspire program at Smith's. Shoppers who link their Smith's Rewards card to the library (the library's registration number with Smith's is WF544) will have 0.5% of their purchase amounts donated to the library. While not a large amount per customer, if enough people sign up, it can make a difference! Your purchase price will not increase by registering. Information on the program is at the Smith's site. If you don't have a Rewards card, you can get one at any Smith's customer service counter.
