We would like to thank Ms. Marie Eaves who currently lives in Albuquerque, NM and who volunteers at our library whenever possible. She also volunteers every Wednesday at Los Griegos Public Library in Albuquerque.
Marie attended most of the Studio Art Tours that were started in El Rito in the late 1980's. She became friends with the two women that had "Northlight Studio", Ginger and Monica. Marie still attends the studio tours whenever she can.
Marie has also been a longtime donor. As a retired PNM employee, her donation is matched dollar-by-dollar each year. Marie has helped us during our difficult financial times and we want to say "THANK YOU" for being such a great Friend of our library.
In Marie's own words: "El Rito is a very special place for me and has been since my first trip through Northern New Mexico which was probably in the late sixties. The land, the sky, the village has always been a vivid memory.
Ms. Marie Eaves and her Granddaughter, Julie Waszak. Julie wanted to come see the El Rito Public Library where her Grandmother Marie volunteers. Julie is now a volunteer at our Library. Both Marie and Julie are committed to the Children's Room and re-shelved all the picture books in order. They also cleaned up books with the children's finger smudges. They didn't stop there - they arranged all the Children's videos in order and by title.
Julie Waszak is 10 years old and will be a 5th grader this fall at Manzano Day School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Julie likes to play soccer and golf. Julie - you are indeed following your Grandmother's footsteps. This type of charity work will take you a long way in your life knowing that YOU do make a difference. Thank you Marie and Julie!
