The El Rito Library has two Empire propane heaters for sale. We are selling them for $300.00 each. If you are interested in buying one or both of them, you can see them at the library.
As you know, the library is in constant need of operational money so therefore we are having an "Enchilada Luncheon" fundraiser on Sunday, April 6th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the Library. Come enjoy a Sunday afternoon with your friends and neighbors and enjoy a homemade meal and help the Library out at the same time. We will also have homemade flan for dessert!
If you can make a donation NOW, please send in your check. Our operational budget tends to get a little thin towards the end of the fiscal year. THANK YOU!
Come join us Sunday afternoons from 2-4:00 pm at the El Rito Library to see movies made in and about New Mexico. We will have popcorn and soda for sale. Come join your neighbors and have a great time for two hours and see these amazing movies. Here is the schedule:

Our 8th Annual Live/Silent Auction will be here at the El Rito Library (for the first time) on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. We are excited this year with our theme "REFLECTIONS". Many of our local artists have already brought in their donations and pictures can be seen under "Photo Galleries" on the right hand side of menu options. We even have a 1969 Pontiac Catalina for the auction this year. There is a reserve amount, but anything over that reserve amount will be 100% donated to the library in full.
Come have some fun, enjoy some food and refreshments, and help the library out. Now is the time to buy those one-of-kind christmas gifts for those someone specials in your life.
Our Fall fundraiser started on September 1, 2013 through November 30, 2013. We will have three months to raise $10,000 for operating expenses here at the library. PLEASE be one of the 100 people to donate $100! If you cannot afford the full $100, ask family or friends to help raise this amount. Since we get no tax money to support our library, we need to ask our community to help us keep the library doors open. Open you hearts and wallet and send us your donation - also help us spread the word around. You can also donate online on our website: www.elritolibrary.org. Your donation is 100% tax deductible. Thank You!
Dear Artists and Everyone,
The El Rito Library wants to make this year’s auction on December 7, 2013 more successful than ever. At our artists’ dinner two weeks ago, you suggested we do a better job of publicizing the auction. With that in mind, we have several requests. First, we would like to have a theme for works contributed to the auction. Reflections is to be this year’s theme and pieces should “reflect” that theme, for example, by use of a mirror or mirrors. Mirror image synonyms are: appearance, counterpart, duplicate, echo, idea, image, impression, light, likeness, picture, representation, reproduction, shadow, depict, double, embody, emulate, epitomize, exemplify, follow, glass, illustrate, imitate, mimic, personify, represent, show, simulate, and symbolize.
In addition, we want to increase exposure to your artwork prior to the auction by previewing pieces (the actual work itself, a photograph, or maybe a sketch) at the library’s Death by Chocolate event. As you are aware, this occurs during the El Rito Studio Tour on October 5th and 6th. We typically have around 200 people visit the Library at that time, many from Santa Fe. If artwork is available for preview, we can begin accepting bids at that time. Also, with your permission, we can publish pictures of your piece on our web site.
One final request is that each of you provide the Library with a short bio and photograph of yourself to be displayed with your Reflections artwork during Death by Chocolate. If you can commit to a donation, we want to create a poster with each artist’s name (bio and photo) to advertise the auction. These will be placed in each studio on the tour. We have only three weeks to get the poster ready for publication so we need your help ASAP.
We realize that this is a lot to ask of you in a relatively short time, but we believe this will make for a more rewarding auction, not only in terms of donations to the library, but also for exposure of your art. Thank you for contributing to our Library’s future.
